Report: Second Qualifying Quotes, Adria 2009

Qualifying Quotes for Round 4

Maxime Martin (Pole Position) - #101 AutoGT Racing Morgan Aero Super Sport
“Fantastic!  We’ll have to see for the first race as my colleague was 15th, so it is not going to be easy but it is going to a long one.  It is very good to be in front here in Adria because it is very difficult to pass.  We’ll see; anything can happen but I’m pleased to be on pole position once again.”

Thomas Mutsch (2nd on grid) - #1 Matech GT Racing Ford GT
“I’m really, really happy because the guys had to repair the car after my small off in free practice, so they did a great job.  The car was fantastic; congratulations to the team and it has allowed me to do P2 here.  Walter is also P2 in the first race, so if everything is running fine we are in a good position for the races.  The Ford is strong here because at Adria it is important to have strong brakes and our car is really good.  You don’t need that much power, which we don’t have because of the restrictors, and this meant we were quite slow at Silverstone but strong here.”

Phil Quaife (3rd on grid) - #56 CRS Racing Ferrari 430 Scuderia
“It was very good.  It’s a massive improvement in the car from Silverstone where we were struggling with the car.  We only took delivery of the car the Thursday before, so it was very new to the team and that was the first time I’d ever driven the new GT3 Ferrari.  We did some testing before coming here and we’ve now got the car how we want it.  I’m really pleased we’ve been in the top six all weekend and we managed to get P3 in qualifying. We’re just two tenths off pole and I think we could’ve done it if we hadn’t caught some traffic.  We’ve got some big lights on the Ferrari and I’m really looking forward to tonight’s race.”

Florian Gruber (4th on grid) - #28 Fischer Racing Ford GT
“It has been a good weekend so far.  The first three laps I had some problems with the fuel pump and we switched the pumps.  I go out for another few laps but the times were not much better.  After the result in Silverstone we hope that we can go to the podium today.”
